Olive Kitteridge is gepensioneerd.

Oliver and Harriet are a seemingly normal set of twins, living a normal life, in our normal world, with one exception -- they are not normal -- they have the strange ability to read each others' mind -- something they thought was perfectly normal. Oliver and Harriet know nothing about other realms, strange creatures, magic potions, or evil tyrants. Th at is until they turn thirteen and return to the realm where they were born -- Framington, to stay at their Gam's house for the summer. Oliver and Harriet quickly realize their summer journey would not be like anything they have ever experienced before, and could be an experience they may not survive. Framington is a mythical place full of colorful hobbits, cranky ogres, and fi re breathing dragons -- a place where their father once ruled and they are decedents to the throne. Framington is now ruled by an evil tyrant -- Lord Th ornas. Th ornas has been confi ned to the Dark Forest for years and the only way out is for him to fi nd "Th e Book" -- a book which only Harriet has the ability to use. Th ornas must fi nd a way to lure Oliver and Harriet to Albazar castle to gain possession of "Th e Book". If Lord Th ornas succeeds Oliver and Harriet will surely not make it out of the Dark Forest alive.

Shakespeare's King Lear and Dickens's Oliver Twist

Title : Shakespeare's King Lear and Dickens's Oliver Twist
Author : Mariebelle Salim Harb
Publisher: LAP Lambert Academic Publishing
Total pages: 80 pages
ISBN: 9783659333088

This book shows how, when Shakespeare's King Lear and Dickens's Oliver Twist are studied together, they accidentally counterpoint each other when representing the same human issues. The play and the novel work in an amazingly opposite manner when dealing with the same basic questions of the human race (like family, religion, exploration of the mind, etc.). Both works deal with the same human issues yet both reach opposing but defensible viewpoints. This proves that when dealing with questions of the human race, there is no one or definite answer-there are only points of view. For instance, both talk about family but King Lear presents it as a horrible thing while Oliver Twist presents it as a desirable thing. Shakespeare, through his portrayal of the family in King Lear, presents it as catastrophic and tragic, while Dickens, in Oliver Twist, proves that the absence of family love is destructive. Both cases work because family-in real life-could be as catastrophic as it is presented in King Lear, and it could also be as productive as it is presented in Oliver Twist. The same applies to the other basic questions of the human race. So, in this life, there are only points of view.

The Olive Season

Title : The Olive Season
Author : Carol Drinkwater
Publisher: Hachette UK
Total pages: 352 pages
ISBN: 1780220634

Second in the Olive story from the bestselling author of THE OLIVE FARM and THE OLIVE HARVEST - now in a gorgeous new look. "I scan the terraces, planted with row upon row of ancient olive trees. It is April, late spring. Here in the hills behind the Cote d'Azur the olive groves are delicately blossomed, with their tiny, white-forked flowers. Beyond them, perched halfway up the slope of the hill, our belle epoque villa comes into view. Abounding in balustrade terraces, nestling among cedars and palms, facing out at a south-westerly angle, overlooking the bay of Cannes towards the sun-kissed Mediterranean, there it is, Appassionata, awaiting us..." THE OLIVE FARM told how Carol Drinkwater and partner Michel fell in love with and bought an abandoned Provencal olive farm. Now, in THE OLIVE SEASON, Carol is pregnant and their ever-loyal gardener is leaving to oversee the marriage of his son. Often unassisted, and with new challenges to face, Carol takes on the bulk of the farm work alone. Water is, as ever, a costly problem, and she goes in search of a diviner who promises almost magical results. But, as the harvest season approaches, dramatic events cast dark shadows of their olive farm.
